About

Welcome to Jacqui Writes Stuff Down! I am (most obviously) Jacqui. I’m guessing you figured that part out. I’m a 30 something wife and mother, originally from Northeast Ohio and now living in Southern California.

I LOVE planners, both actually using it and decorating it. I’d been trying to use a planner for years and found them to be boring, staid things. Which also meant I tended to ignore it. In the second half of 2015, I stumbled into the world of decorative planning, which includes stuff like stickers, stencils, stamps, coloring and more. It’s pretty. It’s fun. It’s definitely a hobby along with a way to control the chaos.

I’m also a writer. I’ve done freelance website writing in the past. I write fiction for fun (no profit, at least not now.) I write humorous “articles” for my favorite Facebook group. I write a lot more “calm, logical, kind and incredibly long” comments when said group starts swirling into all sorts of different types of drama (yes, there is drama in the planner world. There is drama everywhere else, what would you expect?) I write as much as I can because it is something I love to do.

So, that’s the important parts of me, at least in relation to this blog. What is this blog about then?

It’s about planning. As I type this, in late 2016, I use a Bullet Journal (BuJo) as my planner, so expect posts about that.

It’s also about life. My primary job is as a Stay At Home Mom, so you’ll probably see stuff related to that, but this won’t just be “hey, look at this awesome thing my kids and I did and you should do too!” I own a Silhouette and enjoy making things with it, so you may find tutorials on stuff. You might see posts about political and/or human rights issues because I am a strong believer in what Jen DuFore (who runs the blog Jen Plans) said on her IG in early 2016: People are more important than planners.

Mostly, it will be about an imperfect planner girl taking all the chaotic swirling in her head and writing it down in blog form.
